The Farmhouse ‘A Lanterna, located in the Calabrian countryside, between the towns of Guardavalle and Monasterace, is the perfect place for your slow holiday. We are easily reachable from the route S.S. 106: you have to travel along the same road that the ancient Greeks and Romans used to trade olive oil and wine with the rest of Peninsula. Not far from here, on the ruins of the ancient city of Kaulon, there is the Faro of Punta Stilo, a lighthouse which overlooks the Ionian sea.
‘A Lanterna offers different kind of accommodations, throughout the whole year.
- The Casa Padronale, restructured in 2009, has 4 little apartments (Arancione, Blu, Verde e Giallo) finished with wood and cotto tiles. Every apartment has one master bedroom, a private bathroom, a living room with a sofa bed and furniture made from local artisans.
- The antico ovile has 3 big master bedrooms (Persefone, Demetra ed Artemide) 2 double bedrooms (Apollo ed Hera), decorated tastefully, where stand out exposed beams and the stone wall. Every bedroom has its private bathroom, wi-fi connection , TV and air conditioning.
- La Villa, that offers an amazing view of Punta Stilo lighthouse. Elegant and romantic, has 3 bedrooms on different floors, with private bathroom and panoramic terrace.
Located in the cellar of the Casa Padronale, the famous Locanda Cocintum: country style and comfortable, is the perfect place for genuine breakfast, wine tasting, lunches and dinners in company. On the table, you will find seasonal products and mostly the fruits of our organic farming.
