The day starts with the sunlight, which penetrates through the slots of your window. You have slept well, owing to the peace and silence, which swarms among the streets of our villages. You wake up relaxed, like never before and you look out from the window, making yourself permeate by the scent of nature, which merges with the one of the kitchens of the nearby houses. You taste the first coffee of the morning accompanied by a piece of orange-scented cake, observing local people, who start to get busy with their daily chores. You decide to stretch your legs with a walk among the olive trees, the same which produce that excellent extra virgin olive oil, which you love to taste with a piece of homemade bread. After a regenerating walk, you pull out of your backpack one of those novels you packed in your luggage: you lie down on the hammock, which hangs on two olive trees and you start swinging, devouring the pages of that book, forgetting about all the rest. The morning hours are over, slow but fast and it is now lunchtime. You choose one of the holiday farms recommended: you want to know local flavours, so authentic and genuine. The appetizers consist in a range of local cold cuts, followed by a dish of maccheroni with goat sauce and pork chop rolls; all generously accompanied with locally produced red wine. Closing with a “crocetta” and a shot of bergamot liquor. You decide, full, to take an afternoon nap, craddled by that silence you like so much. Once you have restored your energies, you go towards the sea. Here, benefiting from the sea breeze, you walk on the boardwalk and attracted by the delicious scent spreading into the air from the kiosks, you decide to stop. Fried anchovies along with a glass of DOP White Cirò feature as the leading characters during your happy hour with sea view, where you enjoy your romantic reddish sunset.

Uncontaminated nature is the background of your unrestrained relaxing moment where you are resting your mind and your body. You decide to take part in a yoga retreat set up in the olive grove near your room. You place your mat on the floor and start meditating, guided by the expert yoga trainers, by the sound of nature, breathing deeply; your bare feet move in space and your mind sets all worries aside owing to a harmony of your spirit.

But, your idea of wellness is connected to outdoor activities and, besides yoga, you also practise long swims in the blue Ionian sea. You place your towel on your sunbed of the beach facility, you wear your flippers and your diving mask and you start to explore the sea bottom with some slow then intense strokes.  You listen to the sound of the sea and observe the horizon, appreciating these authentic moments, which allow you to rediscover the beauty of small things.
